BYD to deliver 11 electric delivery trucks to San Francisco Goodwill

Commercial EV maker BYD unveiled the first of 11 delivery trucks it is building for San Francisco Goodwill at the recent Advanced Clean Transportation Expo in Long Beach. SFGoodwill will use the new electric truck to collect and transport donated goods in San Francisco, San Mateo and Marin counties.
The new BYD T7 medium-duty electric truck is over 20 feet long and has a GVWR of 23,600 lbs. The T7 features a 175 kWh charging capacity and has an estimated range of 124 miles.
SFGoodwill developed its EV program in partnership with the Center for Transportation and the Environment, a non-profit firm that offers technical and logistical support to help organizations make the transition to zero-emission vehicles.
“Today is an exciting milestone for SFGoodwill,” said William Rogers, CEO of Goodwill of San Francisco, San Mateo and Marin.  “Collecting donated goods to create local jobs and take pressure off our landfills is integral to Goodwill’s mission. This zero-emission fleet of eleven electric trucks will reduce local emissions, improve air quality and demonstrate Goodwill’s commitment to improving the communities we serve.”
